Today in class we read Lindsay Griffin's story.
Lindsay's story is called " The Dance of Surprises." Here is a summary:
Harry felt like a third wheel around his friends Cammie and Carter. When they invited him to a masquerade dance, he was hesitant to go. He figured he'd end up abandoned and feeling alone, but his friends had his costume ready and were insistent. Harry agreed to go. When a slow song prompted his friends to dance and leave him, his worst fears seemed to be coming true. That is when Julie, a cute girl from his homeroom came over and surprised him with a kiss. Since it was a masquerade dance, Harry didn't know exactly who the girl was. After some tense time trying to make the connection, the two finally admit they've had crushes on each other, and they end up dating. Harry is no longer a third wheel.
The boys and girls enjoyed hearing Lindsay's story.
We also practiced writing four sentences of dialogue in class.
